As your therapist, I can support you in addressing what you feel is getting in the way of enjoying your life, staying connected in relationships, and your ability to honor yourself just as you are. In using a combination of relational, experiential, and body-centered approaches, we work together on goals that you want to address. With the understanding that you are the expert on your life, I can help support you in awareness and change. Concerns that are common in my practice include:
- Panic Disorders
- Communication Concerns
- Relationship Concerns
- Life Transitions
- Grief and Loss
Couples work opens up an entirely new type of vulnerability. There is the openness and willingness to share with one’s partner as well as sharing, trusting, and becoming honest with the therapist. In relationships, we can get stuck. We can argue over the same issues repetitively, yet never come to agreements. We can continually get triggered by our partners. And, we can feel lost in relationship. Concerns that I commonly see in couples work include:
- Family Issues
- Lack of Trust
- Communication Concerns
- Intimacy Concerns
- Repetitive Hurtful Patterns
- Unfair Fighting

"Sammy is focused on matching the child's emotion. She is self-aware and self-secure which allows her to be open and vulnerable enough to feel what the child is feeling. She listens and empathizes with the child and with the caregiver/parent so they (the child and caregiver) can strengthen their relationship and continue to grow and develop." -Anonymous Parent
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an effective treatment for trauma. EMDR allows me to support individuals who have experienced disturbing life events and both big and small traumas. EMDR allows the mind to reformulate negative events and beliefs so that new and different associations can begin to take place of old unmanageable thinking patterns. EMDR can also support performance enhancement, panic attacks, negative beliefs about oneself, addiction, and future concerns. Check out the EMDR International Association’s website: http://www.emdria.org/ for research articles and more detailed information.

I offer parenting support for those who feel overwhelmed, exhausted, triggered, judged, and/or ineffective in their parenting style. This time can be used as both therapeutic and educational depending on one’s goals.
